Lubrizol Unveils Cutting-Edge Innovation Hub in India to Accelerate Growth

Lubrizol is reinforcing its commitment to innovation with the launch of its groundbreaking technology and innovation center in Maharashtra, India. This first-of-its-kind global facility will fuel India-based innovation, aiming to expedite market-ready solutions and breakthrough advancements for both regional and global clientele.

A Hub for Collaborative Innovation
The new facility will serve as a vibrant center for collaboration, merging lab capabilities with Lubrizol’s existing Centers of Excellence (COE) in the region. A key feature of the hub is the customer experience center, where Lubrizol will co-create solutions in partnership with clients and collaborators. Equipped with advanced analytics, automation, and digital technologies, the center will apply decision science to accelerate the development of next-generation solutions.

Insights from Leadership
Bhavana Bindra, Managing Director for India, Middle East, and Africa, shared her excitement, saying, “Lubrizol has been synonymous with innovation for nearly 100 years, and this new center represents a significant commitment to our innovation locally. By bringing together expertise across multiple Lubrizol businesses, this facility will be a cornerstone of collaboration, automation, and technological advancement for our teams and all those we serve.”

Dr. Rahul Misra, Senior Director of Technology for the region, emphasized, “Proximity to key stakeholders will foster seamless collaboration and operational efficiencies. Through a highly collaborative working space, this center will enable strategic R&D, merging legacy innovation with future-state technology to elevate quality innovation.”

  • The introduction of CPVC piping 25 years ago, revolutionizing access to clean drinking water in the country.

  • Developing sustainable bar soaps that improve longevity while reducing waste, earning global brand recognition.

  • Advancing next-generation additive solutions to align with evolving regulatory standards and transportation trends.

Continued Investment in India’s Growth
The opening of the technology and innovation center follows a series of major investments by Lubrizol, totaling over $350 million in the past 18 months. This includes constructing the company’s second-largest global manufacturing facility, building the world’s largest CPVC resin plant, and doubling the manufacturing capacity at its Dahej, Gujarat site.

Lubrizol’s new innovation hub is poised to elevate the company as a leader in technology-driven solutions, further driving India’s industrial and economic growth.
