In a move that underlines Adobe’s continued focus on strategic leadership and legal excellence, the company has announced the appointment of Louise Pentland as its Chief Legal Officer and Executive Vice President. She will directly report to Chair and CEO Shantanu Narayen, and will guide the company’s Legal and Government Relations division, overseeing global legal, regulatory, and policy matters with a sharp eye for innovation and impact.
Pentland brings with her a career steeped in transformative leadership, having steered legal operations across some of the world’s most iconic companies. Her expertise spans corporate law, compliance, litigation, mergers and acquisitions, and enterprise integration, all of which position her to shape Adobe’s legal strategy for the future.
Shantanu Narayen shared his enthusiasm, stating, “We are excited to welcome Louise Pentland to Adobe’s leadership team. Before this role, Pentland served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel at Roku, where she oversaw regulatory frameworks, compliance systems, and governance structures.
Her impressive journey also includes her tenure at Disney, where she held the title of Executive Vice President and Chief Counsel for Disney Experiences and Products. There, she managed legal responsibilities across a spectrum of global businesses, including theme parks, cruise operations, retail products, and digital platforms.
Pentland’s earlier leadership at PayPal and Nokia showcased her acumen in navigating corporate legal landscapes, building global ecosystem partnerships, and integrating sustainability and governance strategies on an international scale.
A proud alumna of Northumbria University in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England, she holds an LLB degree, grounding her legal prowess in a strong academic foundation.
As she steps into her role at Adobe, Pentland is poised to become a pillar in its pursuit of ethical leadership, regulatory clarity, and global compliance, anchoring the brand’s legal future with her rich blend of experience and vision.
