LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton is facing a wave of increasing cyberattacks, having confirmed a third significant data breach in just three months. The latest incident, which occurred on July 2, 2025, primarily targeted Louis Vuitton UK, compromising the personal data of its British customers.
The breach exposed customer names, contact details, and purchase histories, but Louis Vuitton has assured affected individuals that no financial information, such as bank details or payment card data, was stolen. The company has begun notifying customers in the UK, South Korea, and Turkey, with over 143,000 residents reportedly affected in Turkey alone, and warns of potential phishing and fraud attempts.
Security experts suspect the latest attack on Louis Vuitton UK may have involved SQL injection or credential stuffing, potentially exploiting zero-day vulnerabilities in the brand’s customer relationship management (CRM) systems. Some reports also suggest the characteristics of a ransomware attack, though no specific group has claimed responsibility.
LVMH has responded by notifying relevant authorities, including the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) in compliance with GDPR requirements. The company’s incident response team has implemented network isolation protocols, engaged digital forensics specialists, and is conducting comprehensive threat assessments.
Louis Vuitton has also bolstered its security measures by deploying additional endpoint detection and response (EDR) solutions, strengthening multi-factor authentication (MFA) protocols, and initiating penetration testing and vulnerability assessments across all LVMH subsidiaries. The luxury group emphasizes the need for a zero-trust architecture, regular security audits, and comprehensive employee training to combat evolving threats.
