On the global stage at Davos, Telangana marked a major investment win as its delegation announced a landmark partnership with global cosmetics major L’Oréal to set up the world’s first beauty-tech Global Capability Centre in Hyderabad.
The announcement was made during the World Economic Forum 2026, where the Telangana Rising delegation, led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, met L’Oréal CEO Nicolas Hieronimus. The proposed GCC is scheduled to be inaugurated in November 2026.
During the interaction, Hieronimus expressed strong interest in establishing a large-scale GCC in Hyderabad. The facility will function as a global hub for innovation, technology, data, and supply chain operations. It will support L’Oréal’s digital transformation initiatives, including AI and analytics, with solutions developed in Hyderabad to be deployed across the company’s worldwide operations.
The Telangana government extended full support to the project. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Minister D. Sridhar Babu have been invited to attend the GCC inauguration later this year. Minister Sridhar Babu highlighted Hyderabad’s growing strength in the GCC ecosystem and reaffirmed the state’s commitment to supporting global investors.
Telangana is steadily positioning itself as a leader in emerging GCC segments. While the state already has a strong presence in med-tech and health-tech GCCs, the L’Oréal investment places it among pioneers in the beauty-tech space. Hyderabad currently hosts GCCs of global companies such as Vanguard, Netflix, McDonald’s, Heineken, Jaggaer, and Costco Wholesale. Hospitality majors like Marriott are also expanding their footprint in the state.
The delegation also showcased the Telangana AI Innovation Hub (TAIH), which drew keen interest from L’Oréal’s leadership. In addition, Special Chief Secretary of ITE&C and Industries, Sanjay Kumar, invited L’Oréal to explore the possibility of setting up a manufacturing unit in Hyderabad, indicating scope for further expansion beyond the GCC.
L’Oréal’s decision strengthens Hyderabad’s reputation as a global destination for technology-driven enterprise operations and high-value investments. The upcoming GCC is expected to drive innovation at a global scale while reinforcing Telangana’s strategic role in the international GCC landscape.
