Logitech Accelerates Production Shift Out of China to Mitigate Tariff Impact

Logitech International is making significant strides in relocating its production lines away from China to reduce the impact of U.S. tariffs on its computer peripherals. This strategic shift, initially announced in April, is progressing well, according to CEO Hanneke Faber.

The move is a direct response to U.S. import duties, which currently range from 20% to 30% on mice and keyboards manufactured by Logitech in China. The company aims to drastically reduce the percentage of its U.S.-bound products originating from China from 40% to just 10% by the end of the 2025 calendar year.

“We are a little bit better than 30% now, we are well on track,” Faber told Reuters after Logitech reported its first-quarter 2026 earnings. She also confirmed that the shift in production lines to Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, and Taiwan is not leading to any material cost increases.

This proactive diversification of its manufacturing footprint, which began as early as 2018, is designed to enhance resilience and flexibility in Logitech’s supply chain. The company has existing arrangements with contract manufacturers in these alternative locations, making the transition smoother.

While the Trump administration’s tariffs have posed challenges, Logitech has also implemented a 10% price increase on its U.S. products to offset some of the financial impact and maintained disciplined cost controls, including reducing operating expenses.

Logitech’s strategy highlights a broader trend among global manufacturers to de-risk their supply chains and adapt to evolving geopolitical and trade landscapes, ensuring continued operational efficiency and market competitiveness.
