Lisa McGeough Appointed as Head of the Americas and CEO at Deutsche Bank US Operations

Deutsche Bank has appointed Lisa McGeough as its new Head of the Americas region and Chief Executive Officer for its United States operations, effective from early 2026.

McGeough is a seasoned financial services executive with extensive experience in both the United States and Europe. She will be based in New York and will oversee Deutsche Bank’s business across the Americas. Her role will focus on driving growth, strengthening client relationships, and aligning the region’s strategy with the bank’s global objectives. She will also join Deutsche Bank’s Management Committee, giving her a key role in shaping the group’s overall strategy.

She will report directly to Fabrizio Campelli, the Management Board member responsible for Corporate and Investment Banking as well as the Americas, UK, and Ireland.

McGeough joins Deutsche Bank from HSBC, where she was appointed to a senior leadership position earlier in 2025. Her career has included senior roles in investment banking and client coverage, where she built strong expertise in financial services.

Her appointment comes at a time when Deutsche Bank is expanding its presence in the United States and the wider Americas. The bank sees strong opportunities in corporate banking, capital markets, and wealth management in the region.

Until McGeough assumes her role in early 2026, Paul Maley will continue as interim Head of the Americas. Maley, a long standing Deutsche Bank executive, has been managing the region’s operations to ensure continuity during the transition.

The decision to appoint McGeough highlights Deutsche Bank’s aim to reinforce its positioning in the Americas. With the United States playing a central role in global deal making and capital markets, the bank plans to utilise McGeough’s leadership and experience to capture growth and strengthen its franchise.
