LifeTech Group, a leading cybersecurity services provider in Southeast Asia, has teamed up with Kyndryl, the world’s largest IT infrastructure services provider, to launch Malaysia’s first in-country Security Operations Center (SOC) hosted on a public cloud. This collaboration marks a significant step in strengthening cybersecurity for organizations across Malaysia.
By leveraging Kyndryl’s expertise, LifeTech has transformed its Security Operations Center, ensuring data remains secure and stored within Malaysia. This upgrade helps businesses save up to 40% in cybersecurity costs while enhancing their protection against evolving cyber threats. The new SOC also allows LifeTech to meet Bank Negara Malaysia’s data residency requirements, ensuring compliance with the central bank’s regulations.
“We are excited about our partnership with Kyndryl as it strengthens our ability to protect businesses in Malaysia while keeping their critical data within the country,” said Dato KK Loh, Chairman and CEO of LifeTech Group. “This next-generation unified platform will help our clients across various industries, including critical infrastructure sectors, to build better cyber resilience, swiftly respond to threats, and navigate a complex security landscape with confidence—while cutting down operational costs.”
This initiative includes a range of services, from threat intelligence and incident response to advanced detection and automation capabilities. Kyndryl will support LifeTech in delivering these solutions, helping businesses monitor threats, automate processes, and gain insights into vulnerabilities.
Key highlights of the partnership include:
Migration to a unified security platform for improved threat intelligence, automation, and lightning-fast analysis, reducing the need for costly on-premises infrastructure.
A shift towards advanced security capabilities, including proactive risk management, skills development, and continuous improvement.
Zero Trust Security for safeguarding vital business assets through identity, endpoint, and cloud security solutions.
Security Operations as a Platform, offering comprehensive control and visibility across IT environments through tools like SOAR (Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response).
Effendi Azmi Hashim, Managing Director of Kyndryl Malaysia and Indonesia, shared, “This collaboration underscores our commitment to providing innovative, scalable, and resilient cybersecurity solutions. By utilizing in-country cloud infrastructure, we’re empowering LifeTech to scale robust security operations across the region.”
Through this partnership, LifeTech and Kyndryl are setting a new standard for cybersecurity in Malaysia, addressing growing challenges and enabling businesses to operate with greater security and efficiency.
