Lenovo unveils Legion Tab gaming tablet and rugged ThinkTab X11 at MWC

At the Mobile World Congress (MWC), Lenovo introduced new tablets aimed at two very different users — gamers and field professionals. While Motorola focused on smartphones during the event, Lenovo showcased devices designed for performance gaming and demanding work environments.

Lenovo Legion Tab

Lenovo’s Legion Tab enters the compact gaming tablet segment, where options under 9” are limited. The device features an 8.8” IPS LCD display with a resolution of 3,040 x 1,904 pixels and a 16:10 aspect ratio. It supports a 165Hz refresh rate, with 600 nits typical brightness and a peak of 750 nits.

The tablet measures 206.5 x 128.5 x 7.59 mm and weighs 360 g, while housing a 9,000 mAh battery. One of its standout features is dual USB-C ports, allowing users to charge the tablet while simultaneously connecting accessories or outputting video to a monitor.

Powering the Legion Tab is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor. While it is not the Elite version of the chipset, Lenovo relies on its Coldfront vapor chamber cooling system, which improves heat dissipation efficiency by 32% compared to the previous generation.

The tablet also includes LPDDR5T RAM running at 10,667 Mbps and UFS 4.1 Pro storage, with configurations offering up to 16 GB RAM and 512 GB storage.

Lenovo has integrated an AI Engine+ that provides features such as noise cancellation during voice chats, boosted in-game sound cues and scene-based touch sensitivity adjustments for gaming.

Unlike many Legion devices that remain limited to China, the Legion Tab will launch in the EMEA region in April with a starting price of €1,000. It will be available in Eclipse Black, Glacier White and Surge Green, with the latter exclusive to the FIFA Edition.

Lenovo ThinkTab X11

The ThinkTab X11 is designed primarily for professionals in logistics, manufacturing, construction, transportation and energy sectors, though it may also appeal to general consumers looking for a durable tablet.

A key feature is its removable battery, which can be replaced without removing screws. This enables quick battery swaps and also allows the tablet to run in “battery-less mode,” where it operates directly from wall power or a vehicle dock, enabling continuous 24/7 usage without stressing the battery.

The tablet includes dual USB-C ports, enabling simultaneous charging and peripheral connections. Lenovo also offers a USB-C to Pogo Pin converter, allowing the tablet to connect quickly to a dock.

Built for durability, the ThinkTab X11 is MIL-STD-810H certified and carries an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. The touchscreen works with gloved or wet hands and the tablet includes a built-in stylus stored in the top-left corner.

The device features a 10.95” LCD display with 2,560 x 1,600 resolution and 600 nits brightness, protected by Gorilla Glass.

It runs on the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset, paired with up to 12 GB LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512 GB UFS 3.2 storage. The tablet ships with Android 16, but will receive updates only up to Android 18, along with 4 years of security updates.

Other features include Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC on the front for easier scanning and a 10,200 mAh battery.

The ThinkTab X11 measures 9.93 mm thick, weighs 650 g and will be available only in Eclipse Black. The device is set to launch in the EMEA region in April at €500.
