Lenovo launches Legion Y700 Gen 5 gaming tablet with Snapdragon 8 Elite and 165Hz display

Lenovo has introduced its latest gaming-focused tablet, the Legion Y700 Gen 5, in China, targeting users seeking high performance in a compact form factor.

The tablet features an 8.8-inch display with a 3040 x 1904 resolution, 165Hz refresh rate, and 408 ppi pixel density. It supports up to 800 nits peak brightness, DCI-P3 colour gamut, and 12-bit colour depth, along with TÜV Rheinland certifications for low blue light and flicker-free viewing. It also offers a 2640Hz instantaneous touch sampling rate, 480Hz multi-finger sampling rate, and 10x touch resolution.

Powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, the device supports up to 24GB RAM and up to 1TB onboard storage, with TF card expansion up to 2TB. It runs on an Android 16-based interface.

The Legion Y700 Gen 5 includes AI-backed features such as AI Voiceprint Hunter 2.0, AI Pixel Sniper God 2.0, and cross-device AI search. It also offers AI-powered note-taking tools, including writing assistance, summarisation, and speech transcription. The tablet supports a low-latency stylus and features Legion Halo lighting effects.

For thermal management, Lenovo has equipped the device with a 17,353 sq mm three-channel liquid-cooled vapour chamber and central cooling architecture 3.0. It houses an 8MP front camera with facial recognition and a 50MP rear camera. Audio is supported by dual super-linear speakers with Dolby Atmos.

The device packs a 9,000mAh battery with 68W fast charging. Lenovo claims up to 18.8 hours of video playback and around 10.3 hours of gaming. It also supports bypass charging to manage heat during extended gaming sessions. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and dual USB Type-C ports.

The Lenovo Legion Y700 Gen 5 is priced at CNY 3,999 (approx. Rs. 54,100) for the 12GB + 256GB variant, CNY 4,799 (approx. Rs. 64,900) for the 16GB + 512GB model, and CNY 5,999 (approx. Rs. 81,100) for the 24GB + 1TB variant. It is available in Carbon Crystal Black and Ice Soul White colour options via the Lenovo China e-store, with additional subsidised and student pricing for eligible buyers.
