China’s Lenovo Group has revealed plans to establish a regional headquarters in Saudi Arabia as part of its efforts to expand its presence in the Middle East.
The company has appointed Lawrence Yu, a long-time Lenovo executive, to head the new office in Saudi Arabia. Alongside this, Giovanni Di Filippo has been named as the general manager of Lenovo Saudi Arabia, while Zoran Radumilo has taken charge as the company’s technology chief.
Lenovo has also entered into a partnership with a local company to set up a manufacturing facility in the kingdom. The plant is scheduled to begin production of personal computers, laptops, smartphones, and servers in 2026.
Speaking recently, Lenovo Chief Executive Officer Yang Yuanqing said the company has experienced strong growth in demand for artificial intelligence across its three core business segments. He also noted that China’s demand for AI infrastructure is advancing faster than the rest of the world.
