Indian smartphone brand Lava has shared a teaser for its upcoming handset, confirming that a new device will launch in the country soon. While the company has not revealed the official name or launch date, the teaser image says it is “Coming Soon”.
The biggest highlight of the new Lava smartphone is its dual display design. The device is shown with a small rectangular secondary screen placed on the back, next to the camera module. This rear display is integrated into the rectangular camera island, which also houses two rear cameras.
The teaser image shows two lens rings, confirming a dual camera setup. The rear panel also carries embossed text that suggests the phone will feature a 50 megapixel AI camera system.
In terms of design, the handset appears to have sharp edges with smooth curves and a slightly raised camera section. The right side of the frame looks clean, which suggests that the power and volume buttons may be placed on the left side.
Although the official name of the smartphone is still unknown, the design is expected to follow the Xiaomi 17 Pro series, which is known for featuring a secondary rear display with high brightness levels.
Lava has experience with dual display smartphones. In October 2024, the company launched the Lava Agni 3 with a 1.74 inch AMOLED rear screen. In December 2024, it introduced the Lava Blaze Duo, which came with a 1.58 inch AMOLED display on the back.
According to the brand, the secondary displays on these phones allow users to take selfies using the rear cameras, control music playback, and manage settings such as alarms and timers.
More details about the new Lava smartphone are expected to be revealed in the coming days.
