Larry Page, the co-founder of Google and a prominent figure in the tech industry, is venturing into his new AI startup, Dynatomics. This initiative aims to utilize AI for creating optimized product designs that can be efficiently manufactured, as reported by The Information.
The startup is in the process of building a dedicated team of AI developers and engineers, with Chris Anderson, the former CTO of Kittyhawk, leading the effort. Dynatomics will focus on AI-driven design automation, employing machine learning models to produce highly optimized designs, which could enhance product development across various sectors. This initiative reflects a broader trend in AI-enhanced manufacturing, where companies are adopting advanced models to boost efficiency and foster innovation.
Other startups are also pursuing similar goals. For example, Orbital Materials is leveraging AI to create new materials for advanced batteries and carbon capture, while PhysicsX uses AI-driven simulations in the automotive and aerospace fields.
In 2019, Page and fellow co-founder Sergey Brin stepped down from their roles at Alphabet, Google’s parent company, passing the CEO position to Sundar Pichai. Nevertheless, Brin continues to engage in AI research at Google DeepMind. A recent internal memo revealed that Brin has encouraged employees in the AI division to work extended hours, suggesting 12-hour workdays.
