Vodafone Idea has strengthened its partnership with Kyndryl through a new three year agreement aimed at modernising its IT operations and enhancing its cybersecurity capabilities. The companies said the extended collaboration will help the telecom operator improve operational efficiency and drive faster digital innovation.
Kyndryl will introduce a next generation IT operations delivery model that uses advanced automation and data driven insights. This will help Vodafone Idea shift to zero touch delivery and streamline application operations management. The company will also lead major transformation projects in backup, storage management and continuous data protection to boost operational agility and reduce costs.
A unified cyber resilience framework will be designed and delivered by Kyndryl as part of the agreement. This framework will focus on security governance, zero touch services, data protection, identity and access management, security operations and incident recovery. Kyndryl will also redesign the telecom operator’s cybersecurity architecture to support future regulatory needs.
Vodafone Idea will continue using Kyndryl Bridge, an AI powered open integration platform, to support improvements in automation and data driven decision making. According to the joint statement, Kyndryl Bridge has already deployed more than one thousand automations for Vodafone Idea, helping reduce delivery event noise by fifteen percent and enabling unified visibility across business services.
Jagbir Singh, chief technology officer at Vodafone Idea, said the company aims to build an intelligent and scalable IT backbone that can support rapid innovation. He said, “At Vi, our focus is on building a resilient, scalable and intelligent IT backbone that can support rapid innovation and business agility. Our partnership with Kyndryl enables us to leverage advanced automation, AI driven insights and a zero touch operations model to optimise our IT infrastructure.” He added that the collaboration aligns the company’s technology investments with long term goals and customer value.
Lingraju Sawkar, president of Kyndryl India, said Kyndryl’s experience in managing complex systems has helped the company support Vodafone Idea’s digital transformation. He said the extended partnership will help the telecom operator align its IT strategy with business priorities, increase returns on technology investments and accelerate the launch of new digital services.
