In her expanded role, Kopal will focus on strategic growth, operational excellence, product innovation, and customer-centric expansion across Hindalco’s aluminium downstream businesses. The elevation reflects the company’s confidence in her leadership to drive large-scale transformation, strengthen supply chains, and deliver enterprise-wide performance gains.
Previously, Kopal served as Chief Procurement Officer and Head – Raw Materials Procurement at Hindalco. She enhanced supply chain resilience and led efficiency initiatives across procurement operations. She also held the position of Vice President – Business Transformation, where she drove key strategic transformation programs within the organization.
Before joining Hindalco, Kopal built a 14-year career at Schlumberger (SLB). She advanced to Country Business Head – Drilling & Measurements for India, Bangladesh & Sri Lanka, managing a multi-million-dollar P&L and leading a team of over 200 members in a challenging pricing environment. Her earlier roles included Sales & Commercial leadership and Senior Well Engineering assignments on deepwater, ultra-deepwater, and shale gas projects with clients such as Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) and Reliance Industries Limited. She was also among the first female directional drillers on ONGC land rigs, marking a significant milestone in the sector.
Kopal is an alumna of Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani. She holds a Master’s in Management Studies and a B.E. (Hons) in Chemical Engineering. Her career reflects a strong cross-industry leadership background across energy, manufacturing, procurement, and strategic transformation.
Her elevation underlines Hindalco’s continued focus on strengthening its downstream aluminium capabilities and reinforcing its global leadership across the metals value chain.
