The International Data Center Authority (IDCA) has announced a strategic partnership with Khazna Data Centers (Khazna), the leading data center owner and operator in the Middle East. Based in Abu Dhabi, Khazna will synchronize all facets of its operations with IDCA’s internationally recognized standards.Â
This encompasses data center design, service delivery, cloud and AI implementations, and workforce training. The objective is to guarantee that every component of Khazna’s portfolio achieves the highest standards of performance, resilience, and compliance established by IDCA.
Khazna is developing the infrastructure to support the newly announced 5GW AI Hub in the UAE. At the same time, the company has initiated a global expansion strategy and revealed its intentions to enter markets in Saudi Arabia, Kenya, Egypt, Türkiye, France, and Italy.
“This strategic alliance between IDCA and Khazna is not only game-changing for the Middle East but will also set new standards of excellence at the global scale,” said IDCA Chairman and CEO Mehdi Paryavi in making the announcement. “Khazna plays a critical role in the future of digital infrastructure for Cloud and AI, and its adoption of IDCA standards exhibits the company’s commitment in making a global impact.”
“As part of our long-term strategy, Khazna has committed to aligning all future developments with IDCA’s framework—an industry benchmark that reflects the full complexity of modern digital infrastructure, particularly in cloud and AI,” said Hassan Alnaqbi, CEO of Khazna. “This alignment enhances our leadership in the MEA region and strengthens our global competitiveness, ensuring our infrastructure and operations meet the highest international standards.”
“Our mission has always been to deliver trusted, future-ready infrastructure that powers digital transformation at scale,” Alnaqbi added. “As AI becomes a defining force in our industry, our partnership with IDCA underscores our commitment to building intelligent, efficient, and globally competitive data centers.”
The certification process, which commenced on July 1, 2025, involves thorough audits of Khazna’s infrastructure, operational procedures, and corporate systems. Dedicated teams from both organizations have already been deployed to manage the complete compliance and certification initiative.
Paryavi added: “IDCA projects a growth of data center capacity from the current level of around 55GW to as much as 250 to 300GW by 2030, this is a massive explosion of need and demand requires leading emerging global players like Khazna who present a strong case in their ability to produce results at scale and capacity that our industry and our world requires it.”
