Datadog, a leading monitoring and security platform for cloud applications, has announced the appointment of John Trapani as its Field CTO for financial services. This is a newly created role in which he will work with the company’s sales, product and marketing teams to expand a unified observability strategy for customers in the financial services industry.
Eugene Kovnatsky, VP of Product Solutions Architecture and Field CTO Teams at Datadog, said that “John’s deep experience developing new products, features and functionality that support FinServ clients will be critical for Datadog as we continue to tailor our observability, security and AI capabilities for our global customers.” He added that Trapani’s long record of success has made him a trusted advisor to global banking and market infrastructure customers.
Sharing his plans for the new role, Trapani said, “The financial services industry is constantly evolving. That has become truer than ever as AI projects proliferate and companies continue to modernize. I look forward to working with Datadog’s technical and go to market teams to guide customers on their digital transformation journeys, working to resolve their pain points and realize value from their investments in a unified observability and security platform.”
Trapani joins Datadog with more than 35 years of experience in software development and industry leadership. He most recently served as an industry leader for financial services at a global enterprise software company. Before that, he spent two decades at a major ratings organisation, where he led application development teams and served as Head of Engineering and Managing Director responsible for core analytical platforms.
