Blending high luxury with a strong conservation message, a new bespoke timepiece has drawn attention across global luxury and lifestyle circles. Luxury watchmaker Jacob & Co. has introduced an exclusive watch created as a tribute to Anant Ambani and his wildlife conservation efforts in India.
The one-of-a-kind timepiece, called the Vantara watch, was launched on January 21, 2026. It honours the Vantara Global Wildlife Rescue and Conservation Centre located in Gujarat. Soon after its debut, the watch became a talking point for its distinctive design and symbolic storytelling.
At the centre of the dial is a hand-painted figurine of Anant Ambani, representing his commitment to wildlife protection. The dial also features detailed depictions of a lion and a Bengal tiger, both protected species at the Vantara sanctuary. These elements are set against a deep green camouflage-style background, reinforcing the wildlife theme.
The watch is valued at approximately $1.5 million and is notable for its extensive gemstone work. It includes 397 hand-set stones with a combined weight of nearly 22 carats. The gemstones include demantoid garnets, tsavorites, green sapphires, and white diamonds. Each stone has been carefully placed to create texture, depth, and visual movement across the dial.
While some users on social media joked that the design makes reading the time difficult, collectors and watch enthusiasts have praised the piece as a rare artistic creation. Many see it as an example of how high-end watches are evolving beyond traditional luxury statements.
The Vantara watch adds to Anant Ambani’s growing collection of rare timepieces. It also reflects a wider trend in luxury, where craftsmanship, storytelling, and personal values are becoming as important as exclusivity and price.
