iQOO 15 expected to offer extended software support in India

The iQOO 15 is set to launch in India on November 26 with Android 16 based OriginOS 6. A recent report says the phone will support five years of operating system upgrades and seven years of security updates. The company said this decision was based on user feedback and its plan to offer long term support. This makes the iQOO 15 the first device from the brand to ship with OriginOS 6.

The phone was launched in China in October with a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip and a 7000 mAh battery. The Indian version will feature the same chip along with LPDDR5x Ultra RAM, UFS 4.1 storage and a Q3 gaming chip. It will be available in black and white colour options with a 2K 144 Hz display and an 8000 square millimetre vapour chamber for cooling.

The iQOO 13 currently offers four years of OS updates and five years of security support. Earlier, the company increased support for the iQOO 12 to four years of Android updates and five years of security patches, improving on its earlier policy.
