Infosys To Acquire 75 Percent Stake In Australia’s Versent Group For Rs 1,300 Crore

India’s second largest IT services company Infosys has announced that it will acquire a 75 percent stake in Versent Group, a leading digital transformation solutions provider and wholly owned subsidiary of Australia’s Telstra Group, for 153 million US dollars or about Rs 1,300 crore.

The acquisition will create a joint venture between Infosys and Telstra aimed at advancing AI enabled cloud and digital solutions for businesses in Australia. Infosys will hold operational control while Telstra will retain a 25 percent minority stake in Versent Group, showing its confidence in the combined growth potential. This partnership will bring together Telstra’s connectivity, Versent’s local digital engineering expertise and Infosys’ global scale.

The deal is expected to close in the second half of the financial year 2026, subject to regulatory approvals and customary conditions.

Salil Parekh, Chief Executive Officer of Infosys, said “We are excited to bring Infosys Topaz™ to enable transformative AI-first capabilities to complement Versent Group’s cloud-first digital foundation. Versent Group was formed by integrating Versent, Epicon, Telstra Purple Digital and associated cloud products. The company has 650 engineers, strategists and advisors, and reported revenues of AUD 211.4 million which is over Rs 1,800 crore in the financial year 2025. It serves major clients in sectors such as government, education, financial services, energy and utilities.

Infosys and Telstra have an established history of collaboration. In 2024, Infosys entered into a multi year strategic partnership with Telstra to accelerate its software engineering and IT transformation efforts. In 2025, Infosys also partnered with Telstra International to advance technology leadership and support Telstra’s Connected Future 30 strategy.

Oliver Camplin Warner, Group Executive for Telstra Enterprise, said “By combining the strengths of our three businesses, we’re creating a unique proposition that will help Australian enterprises grow and innovate in today’s fast-moving, AI-driven digital landscape.”
