Infosys has introduced its open-source Responsible AI Toolkit, an essential component of the Infosys Topaz Responsible AI Suite. This toolkit aims to help businesses innovate responsibly by addressing the challenges and risks associated with ethical AI deployment.
Leveraging the Infosys AI3S framework (Scan, Shield, and Steer), the Responsible AI Toolkit offers advanced protective features, including specialized AI models and shielding algorithms, to detect and mitigate issues such as privacy violations, security risks, biased outcomes, and harmful content.
Additionally, the toolkit enhances transparency by providing insights into the reasoning behind AI-generated results, all while maintaining performance and user experience. It is fully customizable and can be seamlessly integrated into both cloud and on-premise systems.
Balakrishna D. R. (Bali), Executive Vice President at Infosys, stated, “As AI becomes integral to business growth, its ethical use is essential. The Infosys Responsible AI Toolkit empowers businesses to stay resilient and trustworthy while navigating the AI revolution. By making it open-source, we are fostering collaboration to solve challenges related to AI bias, opacity, and security.”
Joshua Bamford, Head of Science, Technology, and Innovation at the British High Commission, commended the toolkit, describing it as a benchmark for technological excellence and ethical leadership. Sunil Abraham, Public Policy Director at Meta, also underscored the significance of open-source innovation in AI development, highlighting its role in ensuring safety, diversity, and wider economic opportunities.
Abhishek Singh, Additional Secretary at the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India, pointed out that the toolkit will be advantageous for AI developers and startups, aiding in the creation of safe and responsible AI solutions.
Infosys is dedicated to ethical AI, having set up its Responsible AI Office and being among the first to obtain the ISO 42001:2023 certification for AI management systems. The company actively participates in global AI safety initiatives and industry organizations, promoting responsible AI practices on a global scale.
