Indrajaal unveils AI powered anti drone patrol vehicle for security operations

Indrajaal, a Hyderabad based aerial defence systems company, has introduced an artificial intelligence powered anti drone patrol vehicle. Named Indrajaal Ranger, it is built to detect and stop unauthorised drones in urban areas and border regions. The vehicle carries several tools to counter rogue drones, including global navigation satellite system spoofing, radio frequency jamming and a spring loaded kill switch. It is fully mobile and runs on an AI driven command system called SkyOS.

The company describes Indrajaal Ranger as India’s first anti drone patrol vehicle. It has listed the features that allow it to detect and destroy drones. Developed by Grene Robotics, the system is mounted on an all terrain four by four vehicle. It uses multiple detection and mitigation technologies which are controlled by the SkyOS command centre. The company has not revealed its price as it is being sold through direct contact sales.

The company said in a statement, “With drone based smuggling of drugs, weapons, and explosives rising sharply along India’s western and northern borders, Indrajaal Drone Defence has launched the deployment ready Indrajaal Ranger. It is the country’s first mobile anti drone patrol vehicle engineered specifically to counter cross border aerial threats.”

The tech stack includes a cyber takeover unit that can seize control of a rogue drone, a global navigation satellite system spoofing tool that can interrupt navigation signals, a radio frequency jamming unit and kinetic kill mechanisms. Indrajaal Ranger can operate autonomously as SkyOS can detect, decide and neutralise the target. The company says the process from detection to neutralisation can take only a few seconds.

SkyOS fuses sensor data from command and control unmanned aerial systems into a single system. As the vehicle enters high threat zones, the command centre constantly detects, classifies and deals with airborne threats. SkyOS functions as the mission brain in every Indrajaal Ranger and forms one decisive AI powered control core.

The anti drone patrol vehicle has a hard kill range of up to two kilometres, a soft kill range of up to three kilometres, a soft capture zone of up to five kilometres and a detection range of up to ten kilometres.
