In a welcome turn for India’s aspiring engineers and fresh tech graduates, Global Capability Centres are steadily reigniting their hiring engines. After a spell of cautious recruitment, multinational firms are once again leaning on Indian talent to power their innovation backbones, especially within their strategic technology and research centres across the country.
Staffing leaders and hiring experts have observed a gentle revival in fresher intake by several Global Capability Centres, or GCCs, which serve as high-value offshore branches for top-tier global firms. With the Indian tech ecosystem maturing and offering deep technical expertise at scale, many firms are resuming or scaling up their campus hiring drives.
These centres, which operate like nerve hubs for global enterprises, are increasingly seeking new minds to join them in roles spanning artificial intelligence, data science, cybersecurity, software engineering and more. While the Indian job market remains cautiously optimistic overall, select sectors within tech have begun showing real momentum.
As per staffing professionals, names like Quess Corp, TeamLease, and Info Edge have noted growing interest from GCCs looking to hire young professionals. A key driver behind this resurgence is a shift in focus — from pure cost-saving to value creation through innovation. With projects becoming more strategic, companies are eager to invest in future-ready talent.
“The market is warming up again, and we are seeing GCCs reach out to onboard fresh engineering graduates,” said a senior executive from a leading hiring firm. “Hiring may not be as aggressive as in previous years, but the direction is positive.”
Interestingly, this recovery in hiring is not only about numbers. Companies are now leaning toward structured onboarding, advanced training modules, and longer-term talent nurturing, signalling a shift from transactional hiring to purposeful talent development.
With global tech giants betting big on India’s intellectual capital, the country’s young engineers stand on the brink of an exciting chapter. The wheels of opportunity are slowly but surely beginning to turn again.
