Union Electronics and Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw today announced that the government will provide free AI training courses to all 550,000 Village-Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs) operating Common Services Centres (CSCs) across India.
This initiative falls under the ambit of the ambitious IndiaAI Mission, which has a broader objective of training nearly one million people in various AI-related skills nationwide. The program aims to empower grassroots entrepreneurs with cutting-edge technological knowledge, enabling them to better serve their communities and participate in the digital economy.
Minister Vaishnaw also encouraged VLEs to register with the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) to facilitate the booking of railway tickets, further expanding the range of services offered through CSCs.
This dual focus on AI training and enhanced service delivery underscores the Indian government’s commitment to digital inclusion and economic empowerment at the village level.
