With the increasing use of artificial intelligence (AI), Salesforce still views India as a crucial development area. According to Salesforce (South Asia) President and CEO Arundhati Bhattacharya, India is home to one of the most active and dynamic groups inside the Salesforce ecosystem.
The second edition of TDX Bengaluru was recently held by the cloud-based software firm, highlighting the expanding impact of India’s Trailblazer community, which consists of a network of developers, administrators, architects, IT executives, and client innovators. Currently, the community has over 3.9 million members around the country. Today, 128 active community organizations around the country and more than 900 partners make up the company’s ecosystem.
The nation’s startup environment is growing quickly, according to Sanket Atal, Managing Director of Operations & Technology at Salesforce India, who spoke to Business Today on the sidelines of the event. “The community has now grown to more than 360, and it continues to expand. Most of these startups are adopters of Salesforce products and are actively building on top of our platform, including agent layers like AgentForce. Many are in the prototyping phase, eager to bring their ideas to market. Some have already listed products on our AppExchange,” Atal said, adding that more than a third of these startups are AI-based.
He said that Indian companies are completely on par with their international counterparts and that the country currently has the second-largest startup environment in the world.
Christophe Coenraets, Senior Vice President of Trailblazer Relations at Salesforce, emphasized the significance of equipping more engineers with practical expertise, given the rapid pace of technological advancement. “Last year, we went around the country. We had a program called AI Now Tour that became AgentForce Now Tour, which was essentially full-day hands-on workshops, and also to enable Indian developers with brand new technology. In addition to that, this community is incredible because it kind of self-organises. We have a lot of events that are led by people in the community, and the job of my team and Salesforce in general is to empower these people,” he stated.
By the end of this year, Salesforce anticipates that up to 50% of its code will be written by autonomous agents, up from 30% at the moment.
Salesforce released Agentforce, an autonomous AI application, last year with the goal of offering specialized help to both customers and workers. The program uses a variety of communication channels and interacts with users in natural language throughout day and night. When necessary, it escalates interactions to human staff members and establishes security barriers. Additionally, the business runs Trailhead, an online learning platform designed to help users advance their skills.
