India Tops Asia-Pacific as Key Logistics Hub

India has emerged as the top logistics hub in the Asia-Pacific region, driven by its strong economic fundamentals, robust infrastructure growth, and high demand for warehousing and industrial space. This rise is highlighted in a recent industry report that assessed various markets across the region based on their growth potential and operational capabilities.

According to the report, India now holds the highest growth potential for the logistics and industrial sector in Asia Pacific. Factors such as policy support, government reforms, expansion in manufacturing, and increasing e-commerce activity have played a major role in strengthening India’s position.

The report also reveals that the demand for modern logistics and warehousing facilities is growing rapidly in cities like Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad. This demand is supported by a rise in consumption, increasing supply chain efficiency, and investments from global players.

The report highlights that India’s logistics and warehousing stock is expected to more than double over the next few years, with tier 2 and tier 3 cities also gaining momentum as emerging logistics hubs. Additionally, government initiatives like the National Logistics Policy and Gati Shakti plan are accelerating infrastructure development and integration.

The report further notes that India is benefiting from the global realignment of supply chains. With businesses looking to diversify beyond China, India is gaining traction due to its large consumer market, improving ease of doing business, and expanding logistics capabilities.

Experts noted that “India’s strong macroeconomic outlook, expanding middle class, digital advancements, and proactive policies have positioned it as a key market for logistics and industrial growth in Asia Pacific.”

As companies continue to invest in Grade A warehousing and cold chain solutions, India is likely to maintain its leadership in the region’s logistics landscape. The growing shift towards sustainability and technology-driven logistics is also expected to support the sector’s long-term expansion.
