India secures seventh place in the global Artificial Intelligence innovation race, according to a new study by Linkee, an AI powered automation software company. The study was carried out to identify the leading countries shaping the future of AI.
India scored 24 points, supported by 29 notable AI models and an investment value of 7.25 billion dollars. Workforce adoption stood out as India’s strongest area, with 92 per cent of employees already using AI in their daily work.
The study evaluated countries across five indicators including AI patents per capita, the number of AI models, overall AI investments, adoption among workers, and job openings per one million residents. The United States leads the global rankings with a score of 99, followed by Switzerland with 66, South Korea at 54, China with 52, Singapore at 32, and Canada at 29. The United Kingdom ranks at eighth place, while Australia and Italy are at ninth place and tenth place respectively.
Vahan Poghosyan, chief executive officer at Linkee, said, “The global AI race isn’t just about patents or funding; it reflects which countries are shaping the future of work, innovation, and daily life. Where AI is adopted thoughtfully, it’s creating new opportunities, changing industries, and even redefining what skills matter.”
India recorded only eight AI related job openings per one million residents, which is more than South Korea’s four. Singapore leads in this place with 216 job opportunities per million, supported by a 1.5 billion dollar investment and 17 active AI models. In Singapore, 88 per cent of employees use AI in their work.
The report highlighted that the global AI market is valued at more than 130 billion euros and is expected to grow to nearly 1.9 trillion euros by 2030. The United States continues to dominate with the creation of 561 AI models and an investment of 77.6 billion dollars.
Switzerland leads in patents, with 18 innovations per one lakh residents. China, ranking at fourth place, has developed 196 notable AI models and invested 9 billion dollars, with 91 per cent of its workforce adopting AI in daily tasks. Canada, placed sixth, has rolled out 94 models and invested 1.96 billion dollars, while the UK has filed 140 patents and offers 21 AI related job openings per million residents. Australia has invested 626 million dollars, with 84 per cent workforce adoption, and Italy completes the top ten list with three AI models and four patents per one lakh residents.
