India has indigenously developed chips that will enable direct-to-mobile broadcasting in India

Direct-to-Mobile (D2M) technology has been a popular issue in India for some months,  creating a lot of excitement among the general population. Excitement for this cutting-edge service is growing due to continuous leaks and upgrades, and there are rumors that its commercial launch may be imminent. According to reports, Direct-to-Mobile has finished its pilot projects, technological advancements, and compatible devices. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has yet to approve the system, though. D2M has the potential to significantly benefit millions of consumers nationwide if the Indian government authorizes it.

The fact that Direct-to-Mobile would totally do away with the inconvenience of wired connections is among its most alluring features. Customers won’t have to install SIM cards on their phones or set up broadband. The ability to watch TV channels on mobile devices without requiring an internet connection is a big benefit of this technology.

Additionally, D2M seeks to lessen mobile data usage and network congestion. In places where it is difficult to set up cell networks or install internet connections, this technology will be very helpful. D2M will make it easier to access the internet, especially in isolated areas like woods.

The SL3000 is a new chip developed by Bengaluru-based Saankhya Labs, a division of Tejas Networks. Through broadcasts, this chip makes it possible for mobile phones to immediately receive unique material. This technique makes advantage of pre-existing broadcast networks and was developed in partnership with Free Stream Technologies, which was founded at the Indian Institute of technique (IIT) Kanpur. The objective is to lower the cost of mobile data, lessen network congestion, and enhance information accessibility, particularly in underprivileged or media-poor areas.

An American business called Sinclair Broadcasting has also invested much in the development of low-cost cell phones with D2M functionality.
