India, Australia and Canada have agreed to create a new partnership focused on technology and innovation. The agreement, called the Australia Canada India Technology and Innovation Partnership, was finalised last Saturday.
The three countries will work together on critical and emerging technologies. This partnership will support and complement the projects they already run with each other. The collaboration will use the strengths of all three nations. A major focus will be on green energy innovation and building strong and reliable supply chains. This includes supply chains for critical minerals.
The countries aim to support their shared goals for a net zero future. They also plan to reduce risk by expanding and diversifying supply chains. The partnership will explore the role of artificial intelligence. It will look at how artificial intelligence can be developed and used widely to improve the lives of citizens in each country.
Officials from India, Australia and Canada will meet in the first quarter of 2026. This meeting will help move the partnership forward and plan the next steps.
