India-US talks focus on defence collaboration and critical technology partnerships

Amid evolving global dynamics, India and the United States are taking steps to reinforce their strategic partnership, with a renewed focus on defence and advanced technologies.

Vikram Misri held detailed discussions with Michael Duffey at the Pentagon. The talks focused on strengthening industrial collaboration, advancing technology partnerships, and improving supply chain linkages between the two nations.

The engagement aligns with the goals outlined in the recently signed Framework for the Major Defence Partnership, which aims to deepen cooperation across key strategic areas. During his visit, Misri also met with Jeffrey Kessler and William Kimmitt to further discussions on critical and emerging technologies that are seen as central to the future of the India-US relationship.

The visit comes at a time when both countries are working to stabilise bilateral ties. Recent tensions around trade tariffs and military interventions had raised concerns, but ongoing dialogues indicate a shared intent to strengthen cooperation.

The discussions highlight a broader effort to build a more resilient and future-ready partnership, with a strong emphasis on defence collaboration and technological advancement.
