India and Australia to collaborate on creative technology education

India and Australia will soon work together to strengthen academic programmes, training, and research in creative and applied technologies. This collaboration follows the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Indian Institute of Creative Technologies and Deakin University, Australia. The agreement was signed during the ongoing WAVES Film Bazaar at the international film festival on Friday. It was formalised under the Australia India creative collaboration initiative in association with the National Film Development Corporation.

Vishwas Deoskar, the chief executive officer of the Indian Institute of Creative Technologies, said, “This collaboration strengthens our mission to nurture global talent and push the boundaries of immersive and interactive media education.” He added that the agreement reflects the shared vision of both institutions to advance innovation, academic excellence, and cross disciplinary engagement in creative and technology led education.

Under the partnership, the two institutions will cooperate on academic programmes, specialised training, and research across creative and applied technology fields. The agreement also includes workshops and masterclasses. It will encourage the movement of students and faculty members between the two institutions. Both sides will also work with industry partners to ensure that the collaboration has practical and real world impact.
