At a major global tech exhibition in 2026, several innovations were unveiled, including smart Lego bricks, robots and a compact Bluetooth speaker from Ikea. Known worldwide for its flat-packed furniture, Ikea has also been expanding into consumer electronics. After ending its partnership with Sonos last year, the company has shifted its focus toward designing affordable and stylish audio products.
Ikea has now introduced the Kallsup wireless Bluetooth speaker in the US, priced at just $9.99, making it the most affordable speaker the company has launched so far.
Low-cost compact speakers are widely available on online marketplaces, but many of them often compromise on sound quality and reliability. Despite its small size, the 2.75-inch cube-shaped Kallsup speaker has drawn positive early reactions.
During a hands-on preview at the tech event, a technology journalist noted that she was “impressed by the powerful sound from the pint-size product.”
The Kallsup speaker comes with a replaceable battery that can deliver up to 9 hours of playback at 50% volume. The device can be recharged through a USB-C port, making it convenient for everyday use.
While the speaker is not designed to match the loudness of large party speakers, Ikea has added a feature that allows up to 100 Kallsup speakers to be wirelessly connected and synchronized. This capability enables users to spread multiple units across a larger space and play music simultaneously.
When the speaker was first announced at the technology event, Ikea showcased 3 color options — white, pink, and lime green. However, the company’s US online store currently lists only the white and green versions.
With its compact design, affordable price and multi-speaker connectivity, Ikea’s Kallsup aims to offer a simple and accessible audio solution for everyday home use.
