Hyundai Motor Company India launches Prime Taxi range for fleet operators

Hyundai Motor Company India has taken a new step in its India strategy by entering the commercial mobility space with the launch of its dedicated Prime Taxi range.

The company has introduced the Prime HB hatchback and the Prime SD sedan, developed specifically for taxi operators and fleet businesses across the country. The new range is aimed at delivering low operating costs, dependable performance, and better earning potential for commercial users. Both models are powered by a 1.2 litre Kappa four cylinder engine and are available in petrol and CNG options, highlighting a focus on fuel efficiency and affordability for high usage needs. Bookings for the Prime series are now open at Hyundai dealerships nationwide.

With this launch, Hyundai is expanding beyond private passenger vehicles to tap into the growing demand within India’s commercial mobility ecosystem. The move reflects the company’s intent to support taxi entrepreneurs and ride hailing operators with products designed for daily urban operations.

The Prime Taxi range has been developed to address key requirements of commercial users, including competitive pricing, long term durability, and features that balance comfort with cost efficiency. Hyundai aims to offer vehicles that can perform reliably over extended periods while helping operators manage ownership and running expenses effectively.

This entry into the taxi and fleet segment also mirrors a wider industry shift, where automakers are increasingly creating dedicated products for commercial use. Rising demand for dependable and efficient urban transport solutions has encouraged manufacturers to design vehicles that suit the specific needs of fleet operators.

Through the Prime Taxi range, Hyundai Motor Company India is positioning itself to play a larger role in India’s evolving commercial mobility market while supporting the growth of organised and sustainable transportation services.
