Hyderabad has overtaken Bengaluru as the leading hub for new GCC setups, accounting for 41% to 46% of all new centres established between 2025 and 2026. Out of around 95 new GCCs launched during this period, more than 41 chose Hyderabad, while Bengaluru added 21, although it still holds the largest base with around 900 existing centres.
The growth is also driving strong demand in commercial real estate. GCCs are expected to contribute 40% to 50% of total Grade-A office demand, translating to 35 to 40 million sq ft annually. Hyderabad has captured 18% to 23% of total GCC leasing, second only to Bengaluru but steadily closing the gap. In 2024, the city recorded 5.3 million sq ft of GCC office leasing, its highest ever.
This expansion is creating thousands of high-value roles in AI/ML, cloud architecture, cybersecurity, data analytics, product engineering, and leadership. The growth supports Telangana’s goal of attracting over 120 new GCCs and generating 1.2 lakh jobs.
Data from Telangana Socio Economic Outlook 2026 shows that Hyderabad added 40 new GCCs in 2025 up to October, the highest among Indian cities, and now hosts around 20% of the country’s total GCC base.
Cost advantages continue to play a key role. Despite rapid growth, operating costs in Hyderabad remain 15% to 20% lower than Bengaluru. The city also reports lower attrition rates and longer employee tenures, reducing hiring and retention challenges.
Global companies, especially from the United States, account for around 70% of new GCC setups since 2020, with European and UK firms also expanding in sectors like engineering, BFSI, and consulting. Major organisations across finance and technology sectors are contributing to a strong and diverse talent ecosystem.
India’s GCC sector is expected to grow significantly, with projections of over 2,400 centres employing more than 2.8 million people by 2030. With Hyderabad capturing a growing share of new investments, companies delaying location decisions may face tighter talent and infrastructure markets in the future.
