Key Accused in Hyderabad ‘Digital Arrest’ Fraud Case Apprehended

The Cyber Crime Police in Hyderabad have apprehended Aludasu Sudhaker, a key accused in a high-profile “digital arrest” fraud case that targeted a 48-year-old woman in the city.

Sudhaker, aged 43, was detained by immigration authorities at Mumbai International Airport based on a Look Out Circular issued by the Hyderabad police.

The arrest comes as part of an ongoing investigation into an elaborate impersonation scam that has been preying on unsuspecting individuals. In “digital arrest” scams, fraudsters typically pose as law enforcement officials or other authorities, convincing victims that they are under investigation or have committed a crime.

They then demand money, often under the guise of bail or penalties, threatening “digital arrest” or other severe consequences if their demands are not met.

While specific details of Sudhaker’s alleged role in the scam were not immediately available, his apprehension is expected to provide crucial leads in dismantling the wider network responsible for these fraudulent activities.

The Cyber Crime Police have been actively working to track down those involved in such sophisticated scams that leverage fear and intimidation to defraud victims.

Authorities continue to urge the public to remain vigilant against such online frauds and to verify the credentials of anyone claiming to be from official agencies, especially if they demand money or personal information over the phone or online.
