Huawei Watch Fit 5 Pro teased by CEO, launch expected soon

A subtle teaser from He Gang, CEO of Huawei Consumer Business Group, has sparked speculation about the upcoming launch of the Huawei Watch Fit 5 Pro.

The hint came through a Weibo post, where an image showcasing Huawei Health’s cycling feature briefly revealed the name “Huawei Watch Fit 5 Pro.” While no official details on launch date, design, or specifications were shared, the mention suggests that the smartwatch could arrive soon.

Looking at its predecessor, the Huawei Watch Fit 4 Pro, gives an idea of what to expect. The device featured a durable yet lightweight build with a 500MPa aluminum frame, a titanium alloy bezel for corrosion resistance, and a sapphire glass display.

It offered a 1.82-inch AMOLED screen with 480 x 408 resolution and 347 PPI, along with a peak brightness of 3000 nits for clear outdoor visibility. The watch was EN 13319 certified, supporting 40-meter dive-grade water resistance and IP6X dust protection.

The Watch Fit 4 Pro included advanced health and fitness features such as apnea training and testing, monitoring heart rate, SpO2, and breath-holding duration. It also supported diving-focused tools like hover timer and water type identification.

For fitness tracking, the smartwatch introduced a barometer to improve running detection, positioning, and navigation across terrains. It supported multiple workout modes and offered detailed performance insights.

Health monitoring was enhanced with an ECG app that provided alerts for potential atrial fibrillation and irregular heart rhythms. Users could also personalise the device with mood-based watch faces.

On the battery front, the Watch Fit 4 Pro delivered up to 10 days of maximum usage and around 7 days of typical use, with a full charge achieved in about 60 minutes.

While Huawei has not confirmed further details, the teaser indicates that the Watch Fit 5 Pro could build on these features with potential upgrades.
