Honor has confirmed the arrival of its next Power series smartphone, bringing a major focus on battery performance. The Honor Power 2 will be unveiled in China on January 5, with the launch event starting at 7.30 pm local time or 5 pm IST. The device will succeed the original Honor Power that debuted in April last year and is positioned as a premium midrange offering with a strong emphasis on long usage time.
The company has revealed that the Honor Power 2 will feature a massive 10080mAh battery, the largest ever used in an Honor smartphone. According to official claims, the phone can deliver up to 20.3 hours of continuous screen usage, up to 22 hours of short video playback and up to 14.2 hours of gaming on a single charge. The handset will support 80W wired fast charging along with 27W reverse charging support.
Teaser images show the Honor Power 2 in Black, Orange and White colour options, though the official shade names have not been disclosed. The rear panel features a large camera island with a multi camera setup and the overall design closely resembles the iPhone 17 Pro. Honor has confirmed that the phone will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Elite chipset, ensuring strong performance for daily tasks and gaming.
Based on previous leaks, the Honor Power 2 is expected to sport a 6.79-inch LTPS flat display with 1.5K resolution of 1200 by 2640 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of up to 8000 nits. It may feature a 50-megapixel rear camera and a 16-megapixel front camera. The device is expected to run Android 16 based MagicOS 10, measure 7.98mm in thickness and weigh 216 grams. In comparison, the original Honor Power launched with an 8000mAh battery, 66W fast charging, a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor, up to 12GB RAM and up to 512GB storage.
