Following the launch of its 10000mAh battery phone Power 2 earlier this year, Honor is preparing to introduce another high-capacity battery smartphone, expected to be called the X80.
A tipster on a social media platform shared early details about the upcoming device. According to the information, the new model will be positioned as a pocket-friendly smartphone but may carry flagship-level internal specifications. The source added that Honor will continue its focus on launching phones with higher-density batteries. After the WIN Series and Power 2, the next X-series model is expected to feature a battery capacity exceeding 10000mAh, along with new features and updated parameters.
Battery performance remains a key focus for smartphone users, as it supports both daily usage and long-term device performance. Over the past few years, Honor has made major changes to its battery technology. The company moved away from traditional lithium batteries and adopted silicon-carbon battery technology for its smartphones and tablets.
This shift has delivered 2 major advantages. First, it allows higher energy density, giving longer battery life without making the phone thicker. Second, the new cells work better with smart power management systems, helping improve charging efficiency and reduce heat generation.
These improvements have led to better safety and stable performance even after extended use. Honor steadily increased battery sizes across its models last year, moving from 8300mAh to 10000mAh. The company positioned this upgrade as a way to offer stronger battery life not only in premium devices but also in budget-friendly phones.
With the upcoming X80 series, Honor is expected to take the next step by using a battery larger than 10000mAh. Apart from battery details, other specifications of the device have not yet been disclosed.
The new model is still under development, and its official launch timeline has not been announced. More information is likely to emerge closer to the release.
