Hitachi India has Announced N Venu as the incoming Managing Director

Wishing Mr. N Venu greater responsibilities and exciting challenges in this impressive new chapter!

A fresh chapter is unfolding at Hitachi India as N Venu has been announced as the incoming Managing Director, set to assume office on June 2, 2025. This leadership transition comes alongside the elevation of Bharat Kaushal, the first Indian to serve as MD of Hitachi India, who will move into the role of Executive Chairman starting April 1, 2025.

Venu, a seasoned industry leader, currently holds the position of MD and CEO of Hitachi Energy India and also serves as the Region Head for South Asia. With nearly four decades of experience, his leadership has been instrumental in driving Hitachi Energy’s rapid progress since 2019. He also chaired the Karnataka Chapter of the Confederation of Indian Industry during 2024 to 2025.

Armed with a strong educational background in Electrical Engineering from NIT Warangal and management studies from IIM Ahmedabad, ISB Hyderabad and IMD Switzerland, Venu brings both technical brilliance and strategic insight.

In his upcoming role as MD of Hitachi India, Venu will play a crucial part in accelerating the company’s growth path under its strategic vision “Inspire 2027.” His focus will be on innovation through digital transformation, and aligning the efforts of about 28 Hitachi group companies operating across India to deliver unified value.

Bharat Kaushal, now advancing to the post of Executive Chairman, is a pivotal figure in Hitachi’s India journey. His efforts have helped position India as a significant business destination for the company. He shared that Venu’s appointment is a reflection of Hitachi’s deep commitment to India’s development and its role in the company’s global strategy.

Hitachi continues to expand its footprint in the country, especially in key sectors such as railways, energy, education, healthcare, digital services and financial inclusion. The leadership handover signifies not just continuity, but a renewed momentum to strengthen India’s position in the global innovation landscape.
