Hilal Isar Khan has stepped down from his position as Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Vice President – Operating Head (IT) at Honda Cars India Ltd, according to a report by a media publication. His departure marks the end of a long tenure of more than 2 decades with the automobile company.
Khan joined Honda Cars India in April 2001 and went on to lead the organisation’s corporate IT strategy, enterprise technology planning, and digital transformation initiatives. Over the years, he worked closely with senior leadership and business teams to integrate emerging technologies that supported business transformation and operational efficiency.
During his time at the company, Khan focused on improving productivity and customer-centric digital capabilities. He played an important role in leveraging modern technology to enhance operational performance and support the company’s evolving mobility and customer engagement strategies.
Before joining Honda Cars India, Khan worked as a Senior Business Consultant at Global IT Options Ltd between 1999 and 2001. The consulting firm was funded and managed by the DCM Group.
Earlier in his career, he served as Assistant Manager – Information Technology at Daewoo Motors India Ltd, where he was involved in implementing enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. He began his professional journey as an IT Executive at DCM Toyota Ltd.
Khan holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from Sardar Patel College of Communication and Management. He also completed a CIO Certification Course at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore, focusing on the transition from information management to innovation leadership.
During his tenure at Honda Cars India, Khan played a key role in driving IT-led transformation across the company’s operations. His leadership contributed to the modernisation of enterprise systems and the adoption of digital technologies aimed at strengthening operational processes and enhancing customer engagement.
