HDFC Bank launches ‘My Business QR’ to boost digital presence of small businesses

HDFC Bank has announced the launch of ‘My Business QR’, a digital identity solution designed specifically for small businesses in India. The announcement was made at the Global Fintech Fest (GFF) 2025. This is India’s first commerce identity QR and aims to help retailers transition from offline to online platforms, boosting their digital visibility and commerce capabilities.

Developed in collaboration with Vyaparify, the feature is part of the bank’s SmartHub Vyapar merchant app, which is already used by over 2 million merchants across the country. The solution combines QR-based payments with chat features to create a seamless online purchasing experience.

By scanning the QR code, customers can access the merchant’s digital business profile and save it directly to their phone contacts. This turns the QR into an online, commerce-ready storefront, allowing users to discover, engage with, and pay small businesses more easily. The solution also supports search engine optimised listings to improve discoverability.

‘My Business QR’ is specifically designed to help small and medium enterprises (SMEs) expand their reach in local digital commerce without needing large investments or advanced technical knowledge.

Rajanish Prabhu, Head – Payments and Direct Banking Channels at HDFC Bank, said, “At HDFC Bank, our vision is to empower every merchant with technology that helps their business growth and enhances customer trust. With our SmartHub Vyapar app, we simplified digital payment acceptance for merchants and now with My Business QR, we are offering a solution that gives merchants a foundation to fuel the growth of their business in the digital economy. The launch at GFF underlines our commitment to helping small businesses grow through simple, inclusive technology solutions.”

Ruby Jain, founder of Vyaparify, added, “At Vyaparify, our mission has been to give every small business a simple digital identity that customers can search, save, and engage with. Together with HDFC Bank, we are bringing Bharat’s merchants an industry-first commerce identity QR—one mode that carries their identity, discovery, engagement, and commerce. This is not just technology; it’s about ensuring millions of local businesses can thrive in the same digital ecosystem that customers already live in.”

The launch of ‘My Business QR’ highlights HDFC Bank’s focus on digital inclusion, making it easier for merchants to collect payments and build their digital presence. The bank also showcased a range of next-generation payment solutions at GFF 2025, including those focused on UPI and India’s Digital Rupee.
