GV Prasad to Continue Steering Dr Reddy’s as Co-Chairman and MD for Another 5 Years

Dr Reddy’s Laboratories has announced the re-appointment of GV Prasad as its Co-Chairman and Managing Director, a move that reflects continued trust in his visionary leadership. The new term will begin on January 30, 2026, and will extend until January 29, 2031, subject to the green signal from shareholders at the upcoming Annual General Meeting.

This decision, endorsed by the company’s Nomination, Governance and Compensation Committee, was disclosed in a formal filing to the stock exchange. It marks a reaffirmation of Prasad’s central role in shaping the pharmaceutical major’s future.

Renowned for his forward-thinking mindset, Prasad has played a transformative role in building Dr Reddy’s into a globally admired enterprise. Academically, GV Prasad is a distinguished alumnus of the Illinois Institute of Technology, where he earned his Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering, and Purdue University, where he completed his Master’s in Industrial Administration.
