Gurgaon Cyber Police Face Setback as Fugitive Assaults Officer

A late-night search operation by the Gurgaon cyber crime police in Rajasthan’s Sikar district turned violent after a fugitive suspect assaulted an officer and managed to escape. The incident took place on Saturday in the Khatu Shyam Ji Sadar police station area when the team was tracking a cybercrime suspect.

According to reports, the police had taken Pappu Bajia into custody as part of the operation. However, during the mission in Dhingpur village, Bajia escaped from the police vehicle. Sub-Inspector Sunil Kumar of the Gurgaon Cyber Crime West Police Station chased him in the darkness but was attacked. Bajia punched the officer, tore his uniform, and fled the scene before the police could catch him.

The following day, SI Kumar filed a case at the Khatu Shyam Ji Sadar police station, detailing the assault and escape. His report mentioned that the team had also received information about another fugitive suspect, Dinesh Dolia, who was believed to be in the area with his associates, prompting the pursuit.

Khatu Shyam Ji Sadar Police Station In-Charge Kailash Chand Yadav confirmed the sequence of events, stating that the Gurgaon cyber crime police were in the area searching for Dolia when Bajia managed to slip away and attack the officer.

The incident has raised concerns over the growing risks faced by law enforcement teams during high-stakes cybercrime operations, especially when suspects attempt violent resistance to evade capture.
