On Tuesday, the Gujarat Police returned Rs 2.07 crore to nine victims of cyber fraud, with State Home Minister Harsh Sanghvi presenting the cheques as part of the ‘Tera Tujhko Arpan’ initiative.
The funds were recovered from individuals accused of various cybercrimes, such as investment scams, fraudulent apps, fake links, credit card service fraud, and OTP fraud, as reported by Gujarat Police officials.
The ‘Tera Tujhko Arpan’ program, initiated by the Gujarat Police, is designed to return stolen or defrauded assets to their rightful owners under judicial oversight. This initiative seeks to reduce the necessity for citizens to visit police stations, thereby saving them time and effort. Public events and hearings are held to facilitate the return of property to its legitimate owners.
