Grandiose Supermarket Partners with SAP to Power AI-Driven Retail Expansion in the UAE

Grandiose Supermarket, a leading food and grocery retailer in the United Arab Emirates with nearly 50 outlets and part of the Ghassan Aboud Group, has entered into a strategic partnership with SAP to implement RISE with SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition. This transformation will be integrated with SAP Business AI to serve as the digital backbone of the company’s operations.

The collaboration is designed to help Grandiose enhance customer experience, boost operational efficiency through artificial intelligence, and support the company’s ambitious growth plans within the UAE’s fast-evolving retail sector.

At the centre of this initiative is SAP Business AI, which will bring intelligent automation and deeper analytical capabilities into Grandiose’s core business processes. The solution aims to reduce manual tasks, process large volumes of data for insights into consumer and supply chain behaviours, and enable teams to focus on strategic decision-making.

The new AI-driven platform is expected to help Grandiose scale more efficiently by embedding intelligence throughout every level of its business, allowing for smoother expansion into new locations and markets.

With the adoption of RISE with SAP S/4HANA hosted on Microsoft Azure, and the integration of SAP Business AI, Grandiose intends to optimise its supply chain management. This includes improving stock visibility, refining replenishment planning, and ensuring better product availability across its stores. These improvements are also expected to reduce both overstocking and understocking.

“Customer experience is at the heart of everything we do at Grandiose,” said Mussaab Aboud, Chief Executive Officer of Grandiose Supermarket. “Partnering with SAP and leveraging SAP Business AI helps us better understand our customers’ needs, predict trends, and exceed their expectations with seamless availability and personalised services. The resilience and optimisation provided by SAP’s AI-infused solutions will help us automate core processes and focus more on value-added services that enrich the customer journey.”

The deployment of SAP S/4HANA will become the digital core of Grandiose’s operations, supported by retail-specific solutions tailored for the food and grocery sector. These ready-to-use features, combined with localised tools for compliance and taxation, are built upon SAP’s strong local partnerships and are expected to reduce customisation requirements and accelerate implementation time.

“SAP has become synonymous with family conglomerates and growth-driven businesses like the Ghassan Aboud Group, especially in the retail sector where innovation and resilience are essential,” said Marwan Zeineddine, Managing Director at SAP UAE. “We are proud to support Grandiose’s expansion with a future-ready platform powered by Business AI that enhances customer experience, optimises operations, and drives continuous innovation.”

As Grandiose continues to grow within the UAE and explores opportunities beyond, this digital transformation sets the stage for a more intelligent, agile, and customer-focused retail model, reinforcing its position as a pioneer of digital excellence in the region.
