Government Approves ₹417 Crore Electronics Manufacturing Cluster in Noida, Set to Create 15,000 Jobs

The Indian government has given its approval for the development of a new Electronics Manufacturing Cluster (EMC 2.0) in Uttar Pradesh, with a project cost of ₹417 crore. This significant initiative is poised to transform the region into a major electronics manufacturing hub, attracting substantial investments and generating widespread employment.

The EMC 2.0 will be developed by the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) across an expansive 206.4 acres in Sector 10, strategically located near the upcoming Jewar Airport. The project is anticipated to reach completion by January 2028.

This ambitious cluster is expected to draw in investments totaling ₹2,500 crore and is projected to create approximately 15,000 direct and indirect job opportunities, providing a substantial boost to the local economy.

The approved ₹417 crore project cost excludes land acquisition expenses. Of this, ₹144 crore will come as central financial assistance from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), with YEIDA funding the remaining amount.

Havells, a prominent Indian electrical equipment company, is anchoring the project with a significant investment of ₹800 crore. The company plans to utilize 50 acres within the cluster for manufacturing domestic appliances.

Beyond domestic appliances, the EMC 2.0 is designed to support the production of a diverse range of electronics, including industrial electronics, medical devices, computer hardware, and communication equipment.

To foster a conducive ecosystem for manufacturing and skill development, the cluster will also feature a dedicated skill development center, a modern convention center, and a hostel block for workers.

This initiative aligns directly with the Prime Minister’s vision of bolstering manufacturing capabilities within India and prioritizing job creation across various sectors.
