Google unveils affordable AI Plus tier with advanced AI tools and 200GB storage

Google has expanded its subscription offerings in India with the launch of its new AI Plus plan. This tier sits below the existing AI Pro and AI Ultra plans and is aimed at users who want access to advanced features at a more affordable price. The company confirmed the rollout on Wednesday and highlighted that this plan brings several tools powered by its latest Gemini 3 Pro model.

The AI Plus plan is priced at Rs. 199 per month for the first 6 months and will cost Rs. 399 per month after that. Subscribers get enhanced access to Gemini 3 Pro inside the Gemini app along with higher usage limits for tools like Deep Research. Users also receive Nano Banana Pro access for text based image generation and editing, which is backed by the same Gemini 3 Pro model. The plan further includes 200 monthly AI credits that can be used on the Flow and Whisk apps for video and content creation through the Veo 3.1 Fast model.

Google is also offering more productivity features through this tier. Subscribers can use NotebookLM’s Audio Overviews tool in addition to its research and writing features. The plan integrates Gemini’s AI capabilities directly into Gmail, Google Docs, and Google Vids. It also adds 200GB of cloud storage to Google Photos, Google Drive, and Gmail, which is a significant step up from the 15GB available on the free tier. Free users also have lower usage limits for Gemini 2.5 Flash and Gemini 3 Pro models and only receive 100 monthly AI credits for the video generation apps.

The AI Plus plan enters a competitive segment as it goes up against the ChatGPT Go subscription priced at Rs. 399 per month. Both offer similar capabilities, although cloud storage is not provided by OpenAI. ChatGPT Go was introduced in India in August and gives users extended access to its most advanced GPT 5 model with higher limits for image generation, file uploads, and data analysis. At present, ChatGPT Go remains free in India.
