Google is reportedly testing a tool called Circle Screen within the Gemini overlay for a limited group of users. The feature allows users to draw a circle on their screen and share the selected content with Gemini for follow up questions. A report from a common noun said the update brings the familiar Circle to Search workflow into the Gemini overlay. This workflow was earlier available only through Google Search.
The new Circle Screen option lets users open the Gemini overlay, circle any part of the display and then ask Gemini questions about the selected content. The process is similar to the core idea behind Circle to Search, which isolates a part of what is on screen and runs a visual query. In this version, users can also type their first question after making their selection.
Circle to Search remains Google’s main quick visual search gesture. Google Lens and Gemini Live offer related features. Lens can analyse images and Circle to Search style selections. Gemini Live can analyse live camera input and the content on the screen. The new integration in the Gemini overlay does not include camera view analysis. It only makes on screen searching through Gemini simple and similar to using Circle to Search. It does not replace Lens or Gemini Live.
The report said the feature is available to a small set of users at the moment. It was first seen on a Samsung device. A common noun tried to check the feature on the Pixel ten Pro but it was not available.
