Google rolls out October feature drop for Gemini with Canvas, Veo 3.1, and Gemini 2.5 Flash updates

Google has released its October feature drop for the Gemini platform, bringing several new updates to enhance productivity and creative workflows. The latest release introduces features across Gemini Canvas, Veo 3.1, Gemini 2.5 Flash, and Google TV integration.

With Gemini Canvas, users can now create complete presentations in minutes. By simply adding a topic or uploading a source file, Canvas automatically generates themed slides with visuals and layouts. Presentations can be exported to Google Slides for further customization. This feature is currently available to Pro subscribers, while free users can expect access in the coming weeks.

The Veo 3.1 update enhances video creation with true-to-life textures, improved camera control, and support for dialogue with sound effects. Gemini 2.5 Flash now offers step-by-step guidance for complex topics, better organisation of responses, and improved understanding of images, notes, and diagrams to help users get accurate and detailed answers.

In addition, the October update expands LaTeX support on the web, allowing users to copy formulas, edit directly in Canvas, and download projects as PDF files. The update also extends Gemini’s capabilities to Google TV, enabling conversational queries for personalised viewing recommendations and answers supported by YouTube videos.

According to Google, the new Gemini feature drop is designed to provide users with more creative control, smoother workflows, and enhanced learning and entertainment experiences. These updates reflect Google’s ongoing efforts to make the Gemini platform a comprehensive tool for both productivity and leisure.
