In a move to simplify online shopping, Google has introduced a new set of AI-powered features in India, integrating its Gemini models with the Shopping Graph to improve product discovery and buying experiences.
The company said its Shopping Graph now hosts over 50 billion products, with nearly 2 billion listings updated every hour. These updates are designed to help users browse, compare, and purchase items more efficiently across platforms like Gemini, Search, and Circle to Search.
Within the Gemini app, users can now explore and shop products directly through conversations. Instead of typing basic keywords, users can receive product listings, comparison tables, pricing details, and purchase links in a single chat. This experience is powered by the Shopping Graph, which gathers product data from across the web to provide real-time information on availability, pricing, and reviews. The feature is currently available in English and Hindi.
Google has also enhanced AI Mode in Search. Users can ask conversational queries and get structured responses with visuals, comparisons, and detailed insights such as pricing and reviews. For example, product comparisons can appear in side-by-side tables, while inspiration-based searches may show image-led results with direct purchase links. This feature is available in English, with Hindi support expected soon.
Additionally, Circle to Search has been upgraded on supported devices like the Google Pixel 10 and Samsung Galaxy S26 series. Users can now identify multiple objects within an image at once by circling or tapping different elements, such as clothing, footwear, or accessories, to find similar items online.
Google noted that shopping queries are among the most popular uses of Circle to Search, and the update aims to make product discovery more visual and intuitive.
These updates build on earlier features like Virtual Try-On, introduced in India last year, which helps users visualise how apparel may look before purchasing.
