Emergent, an Indian start-up building an agentic vibe coding platform, has secured a strategic investment from Google’s AI Futures Fund after reaching more than 2.5 million users and crossing a run rate of $25 million in annual recurring revenue within just 5 months of launch. The company said the new capital will also give it access to Google’s advanced AI models and technical support, although the exact investment amount was not shared.
Founded in 2025 by Mukund and Madhav Jha, Emergent enables non-technical users to build full stack, production ready applications through autonomous AI agents. The platform aims to remove the need for large engineering teams or technical cofounders, allowing entrepreneurs, creators and small businesses to create software without writing code. Mukund said the start-up is partnering with Google in multiple areas including Gemini models for backend workloads, DeepMind research support, hosting on Google Cloud for small production apps and distribution through Android and Search.
The AI Futures Fund said Emergent’s innovation is helping people turn their ideas into reality. The startup is already backed by major investors such as Lightspeed, Prosus, Y Combinator, Together and several angel investors. In September, Emergent raised $23 million in a round led by Lightspeed with participation from Together Fund, Y Combinator, Prosus Ventures and angel investors including Jeff Dean, Devendra Chaplot and Balaji Srinivasan. Mukund added that the company continues to seek more capital to grow its team, strengthen research, improve technology and expand its user base.
Emergent also highlighted the security and safety challenges linked to AI generated code, especially since many of its users are non-technical. Before any app is published, the startup scans it with internal security tools to detect issues such as exposed keys or unauthenticated APIs. All apps run in cloud environments managed by Emergent with strict rate limits, firewalls and other layers of protection to reduce the risk of attacks.
